Stockport Homes raise £20,000 for charity: Stockport Homes have helped to raise £20,000 for their chosen charity of the year for 2015, The Christie.
The Christie is national cancer specialist based in Manchester that is renowned as a world pioneer in the care, treatment and research of cancer.
The final total has now been calculated and we are thrilled to have doubled our originally fundraising target of £10,000, with an amazing £20,000!
Throughout the year, Stockport Homes supported The Christie through various activities, including the Great Manchester 10k run, bake sales, fashion nights, a quiz night and the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge.
The main event was a sponsored skydive which brought together 11 staff members including the CEO Helen McHale who jumped from 15,000ft (highest in UK) raising over £5,000.
Chair of the Board, David Wright, said: “Each year, we’re incredibly proud to support charities through a range of fundraising activities. The Christie is especially close to a large number of our staff who grasped the chance to help raise as much money as possible to support the work the charity does in providing care for patients and investing in research.
“We’re thrilled that we were able to raise double our original target and hope this supports the great work undertaken by The Christie.”
