JS Burgess Announces Investment in Training: JS Burgess Engineering the UK’s largest independent stillage manufacturer has committed to a programme of staff training and development by encouraging and supporting employees who wish to attend external courses to improve their skill sets and knowledge of fabrication and engineering. Burgess believes this investment in training is very important and will only build on the strong foundations they’ve created over the years, further improving the service they provide their customers and the quality of products they manufacture.
JS Burgess Engineering Ltd is proud to be associated with many large blue chip customers including Jaguar-Land Rover, Jewson, Magnox, Network Rail and Toyota.
One employee who is benefiting from further training funded by Burgess is Welder Richard Allen, who is undertaking a Level 2 Award in Welding and Fabrication at Buxton and Leek College.
The course provides a recognised industry qualification and is aimed at those seeking to build on their current knowledge, focusing on developing skills and techniques in several areas, including:
- TIG welding (Tungsten Inert Gas welding)
- MIG welding (Metal Inert Gas welding)
- Metal Arc
- Health and Safety
Jonny Patoff, Managing Director at JS Burgess Engineering Limited, felt the investment in skills was vital to aid the future growth of the company:
“As a company we’re acutely aware that our staff are our greatest asset. Investing in the training of our team is key, whether it be engineers on the shop-floor or operations personnel or accounts and administration staff in the office it is something we feel is extremely important, we want to make sure anyone who wants to further develop their skills is given the opportunity.”
JS Burgess Engineering Limited has been a key player in the UK stillage industry for more than two decades. The company has gone from strength to strength over the years and especially more recently when they managed to complete the acquisition of adjacent factory buildings and the land surrounding its High Peak manufacturing base.
